Salary Range Target: $120,000 – $170,200

Job Description

Our client is seeking a strategic and technically skilled Data Architect to lead the design and implementation of modern data warehousing and cloud-based architecture. The ideal candidate will have a passion for data-driven innovation, deep expertise in enterprise-level architecture, and strong experience in both on-premises and Azure cloud environments. This role can be based in any of the firm’s U.S. offices or performed remotely.

Responsibilities

• Design and build secure, scalable, and efficient data warehouse frameworks using SQL Server, Azure Synapse, Azure Data Factory, and related services
• Architect ETL pipelines with tools such as SSIS and Azure Data Factory to support cross-functional data integration
• Collaborate with stakeholders across departments to align data architecture with evolving business goals
• Define and enforce data governance, integrity, compliance, and ISO27001-aligned security standards
• Provide technical oversight for database operations, including configuration, performance tuning, and monitoring
• Lead documentation of data models, architecture designs, workflows, and best practices
• Implement modern data approaches including lakehouse architecture, data mesh, and data fabric models
• Integrate AI/ML technologies and vector databases to enhance searchability and insight generation
• Maintain application portfolios, knowledge bases, and audit-ready technical documentation
• Collaborate cross-functionally with engineers, analysts, developers, and vendors to ensure seamless implementation
• Support ISO compliance and security reporting needs across the data environment

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required; emphasis in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
• Minimum 7 years in IT with at least 4 years in a Data Architect or equivalent role
• Hands-on experience in modern data platforms and hybrid architectures (on-prem/cloud)
• Strong experience with SQL Server (2016+), Azure Synapse, ADF, SSIS, SSRS, Power BI
• Experience designing AI/ML-integrated solutions and large-scale data infrastructure
• Demonstrated ability to lead projects and influence cross-functional stakeholders
• Knowledge of ISO27001 standards and security frameworks
• Experience with modern data governance and optimization across multi-cloud systems
• Effective communication, documentation, and collaboration skills
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision; after-hours support may be required
