Job Description

Our client is seeking a Technology Specialist to join its top-ranked Intellectual Property practice in any of its U.S. offices. This role is ideal for individuals with a strong technical background and a passion for innovation, who are looking to work on high-profile patent matters for leading technology clients. From day one, you’ll gain significant responsibility and receive mentorship from experienced practitioners in a collaborative and inclusive environment. This position is also an excellent stepping stone for those considering a transition to a legal career through law school. Many of the firm’s attorneys began their careers as technology specialists and advanced into leadership roles.

Responsibilities

• Draft high-quality patent applications, including technical descriptions and drawings.
• Collaborate with inventors to understand new technologies and translate them into patent filings.
• Correspond with the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office regarding pending applications.
• Provide technical insights to support patent litigation and strategy teams.

Requirements

• Advanced degree preferred; minimum bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering required.
• 2+ years of experience in patent prosecution required.
• Demonstrated expertise in machine learning (ML), including neural networks (NN) and deep learning algorithms, with experience in hardware implementation.
• Superior writing skills and strong academic performance.
• Registration with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) strongly preferred.
