Job Description
Our client is seeking a highly detail-oriented Legal Billing Specialist to join its Revenue Management team in New York City. This full-time, hybrid role is responsible for managing the end-to-end invoice preparation and submission process. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication and analytical skills, and demonstrate a proactive, solutions-focused approach to supporting attorneys and clients.
Responsibilities
- Edit prebills using Prebill Viewer and Aderant based on attorney instructions.
- Generate a high volume of complex invoices in accordance with client and firm guidelines.
- Ensure invoices meet billing compliance standards and include necessary supporting documentation.
- Submit electronic invoices via platforms such as E-Billing Hub and manage supporting materials.
- Monitor and address rejected or reduced invoices promptly, including appeals when necessary.
- Respond to attorney and client billing inquiries. Support ad hoc billing projects and reporting requests as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Minimum 3 years of legal billing experience required.
- Proficiency with billing systems such as Aderant, Elite/3E, Prebill Viewer, E-Billing Hub, and BillBlast preferred.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills required.
- Excellent organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional communication and client service orientation.
- Flexibility to work overtime as needed.
