Job Description
Our client is seeking an experienced Associate or Senior Counsel to join their Wage and Hour Litigation team, with a focus on class actions and PAGA claims. This role is ideal for attorneys with 3–7+ years of experience handling complex wage and hour disputes in both state and federal courts. Candidates must be skilled in case strategy, discovery, motion practice, and client advocacy. Openings in several California offices including Cerritos, Irvine, Pasadena, and San Diego.
Responsibilities:
- Defend employers in wage and hour class actions and PAGA claims in state and federal court.
- Conduct document and data review to evaluate exposure and develop litigation strategies.
- Prepare comprehensive case evaluations and strategy reports for clients.
- Draft and respond to discovery requests specific to class/PAGA matters.
- Conduct and defend depositions of plaintiffs, witnesses, and experts.
- Handle all aspects of law and motion practice, including motions to compel arbitration, dispositive motions, and discovery-related motions.
- Prepare for and attend mediations, including drafting mediation briefs and negotiating settlements.
- Appear at court hearings, argue motions, and attend status conferences.
- Participate in arbitrations and/or trials as needed.
Requirements:
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
- Licensed to practice in California and in good standing.
- 3–7+ years of wage and hour litigation experience, with a focus on class action and PAGA matters.
- Proficient in discovery strategy, deposition practice, and motion work.
- Strong background in California and federal wage and hour laws.
- Skilled in mediation preparation and courtroom advocacy.
- Exceptional legal research and writing capabilities.
