Job Description

Our client is seeking a talented Associate Attorney to join their construction litigation practice, focused on contract disputes across both public and private sectors. This role is ideal for a proactive legal professional with strong litigation skills and a deep understanding of construction-related claims. The position offers the opportunity to manage cases, engage directly with clients, and contribute to complex legal strategies involving public contract law, arbitration, and project delivery disputes.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage construction contract claims, including arbitration and trial prep, for public and private clients.
  • Provide legal analysis and draft motions, discovery responses, and case documents. Handle depositions, discovery planning, and interface with clients on legal and strategic issues.
  • Advise on key construction law topics such as liens, bid protests, delay/impact damages, and alternative delivery methods.
  • Take ownership of legal matters and contribute proactively to case strategy and resolution.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) and active California Bar membership.
  • 3–5 years of experience in construction contract litigation (non-defect).
  • Knowledge of public contracting, lien laws, bond claims, and project delivery models.
  • Strong legal writing, research, discovery, and deposition skills.
  • Professional presence, sound judgment, and a self-starting, team-oriented mindset.
