Salary Range Target: $60,000-$70,000 Base Salary

Job Description
A respected litigation law firm is hiring a full-time Medical Malpractice Paralegal for their Hartford, CT office. Great opportunity to work on complex cases involving hospitals and long-term care facilities.

Responsibilities:

• Organize and review case files to ensure attorneys are prepared to start their day efficiently
• Draft and prepare pleadings
• Manage discovery requests
• Coordinate subpoenas and authorizations to gather critical medical and employment records
• Collaborate with attorneys to summarize depositions and analyze documents
• Monitor case progress and ensure deadlines are met
• Apply attention to detail, tech skills, and multitasking abilities to support defense efforts for hospitals, nursing homes, and long-term care facilities

Qualifications:

• Minimum of one (1) year of litigation experience, preferably in medical malpractice
• Solid academic background
• Strong research and writing skills
• Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
• Proficiency in MS Office, especially in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Experience with PDF software (e.g., Nuance Power PDF), including Bates stamping, combining and separating files, and Editing PDFs
• Highly organized and detail-oriented
• Eager to contribute to a high-performing legal team
