JOB-1943

An early-stage startup is building vertical AI for emergency medical services, beginning with the shortfall in ambulance billing revenue. It has landed a large enterprise customer, recently released a second product, and is hiring its fourth or fifth engineer, someone independent and product-minded who needs no manager.

What you’ll do

  • Build features from start to finish for roughly forty percent of your time, with examples being voice agents that dial insurers and LLM-based pipelines that contest denials
  • Spend about thirty percent strengthening infrastructure and the backend, with refactoring, so systems hold up under growing enterprise volume
  • Shape the product through your own judgment: which features, what experience, and the reasoning behind them
  • Learn first-hand from EMTs, billing staff, fire chiefs and operations heads about what they truly need
  • Work in a flat structure with no managers, with feedback flowing both ways and work shared around

What you bring

  • Three to seven years as a full-stack engineer, with production systems shipped end to end for customers
  • Experience at high-growth startups, from seed through Series B
  • Modern stack familiarity such as TypeScript, React, AWS and GCP
  • A strong computer science education or time at companies known for engineering talent
  • A background in healthcare, EMS or insurance billing is a plus

Hybrid in the San Francisco Bay Area, about four days a week in the office. Visa transfers considered.
