JOB-1944
A growth-stage fintech serving businesses with billing and invoicing is hiring its first engineer focused solely on infrastructure and reliability. It wants a builder who comes from software engineering to strengthen its AWS foundation as customer count and transaction volume are expected to multiply over the coming year.
What you’ll own
- Security infrastructure, built out during your first ninety days so the company can serve demanding enterprise customers with heavy compliance needs
- A rethink of the architecture built on AWS, Kubernetes and Terraform for two to three times current scale, including a move off ECS and Fargate
- Reliability and observability end to end: service-level objectives, alerts, handling incidents and writing postmortems
- Well-engineered code and automation that trim repetitive manual effort and operational risk
- Infrastructure direction for the engineering organization, working with the engineering VP and a small platform group
About you
- Eight or more years of experience, mostly at leading companies, with software engineering roots rather than a purely sysadmin-style or maintenance-only path
- Hands-on production Terraform and Kubernetes, with AWS strongly preferred
- A record of building infrastructure from one to ten, in environments running anywhere up to roughly two hundred clusters
- Time at a strong Series A to C startup
- Working knowledge of information security, and coding in TypeScript, Python, Rust or Java
On-site in New York, NY, typically five days a week. Visa transfers considered.
