JOB-1957
An AI-native startup in New York runs a platform of autonomous agents that dig up findings for its users. It is hiring a senior product engineer to serve as a dependable anchor for a small group made up largely of specialists, working across the stack with little oversight.
Scope
- Grow the agent platform’s infrastructure, improving its reliability, orchestration and speed as workloads multiply
- Take charge of the system that records, de-duplicates and organizes what the agents discover so users and the agents themselves can follow up later
- Collaborate with product, design, AI engineers, frontend and sales colleagues to understand customer needs and convert them into features
- Steer how data is modeled and how fast queries run in PostgreSQL and ClickHouse as volumes rise
- Lead features from problem framing through production, including analytics usable by both people and agents, an MCP server and agent tooling
- Establish and uphold norms for quality of code, the design of APIs (versioning, compatibility guarantees) and schema design
Ideal background
- Three to six years running production backend systems, with solid PostgreSQL skills and a good grasp of data modeling
- Comfortable contributing backend and frontend code roughly equally without being a frontend specialist
- Record of owning meaningful projects and shipping them end to end
- Bachelor’s degree, computer science preferred
- Plus: shipped LLM-based, chatbot or agent features, built MCP servers, or established engineering practices while at an early-stage company
- Python, FastAPI and AWS familiarity
On-site in New York, NY. No visa sponsorship or transfers available.
