An early-stage startup in New York is building a consumer web trading product for sports fans, with blockchain settlement happening quietly behind the scenes. It is looking for an engineer who leans toward frontend but works across the stack, to join a very small team as a genuine founding hire.
Your focus
- Lead development of the customer-facing web app for trading and portfolio management
- Make on-chain settlement feel invisible to everyday users through fast, intuitive interfaces
- Set frontend architecture direction for a stack built from several services, handling intricate state and live data streams
- Help define the service interfaces and money-movement flows that connect blockchain infrastructure to what the user sees
- Work side by side with the cofounders to steer what gets built and how
- Help build a culture of ownership and speed, with meaningful founding-level equity
Profile
- Two to eight years of engineering experience with a frontend emphasis
- Deep React expertise and a record of launching refined web products for consumers
- Solid grasp of speed, stability and intricate application state
- Strong product judgment about how software behaves and feels, beyond how it looks
- Background at a well-funded product company; trading, fintech or crypto experience is a plus
- Bootcamp graduates and self-taught engineers are welcome
On-site in New York, NY, four to five days a week. Visa transfers considered.
