A venture-backed startup running an online marketplace for creators is hiring an early-career engineer who is strong on the backend and curious enough to work across the stack. The team moves quickly, and the person joining will help build and evolve the systems that keep the marketplace running.
Responsibilities
- Design, build and maintain dependable services behind the marketplace
- Debug and program back-end web functionality, with a database migration project on the horizon
- Work with colleagues from other functions so technical solutions fit together smoothly
- Create scalable improvements to the platform
- Take part in every phase of the development lifecycle
About you
- Up to two years of professional experience, mostly backend, with clear signs of curiosity and high ability from school, work or personal projects
- Proficiency in Postgres and TypeScript, plus real front-end ability in React or Next.js and an eye for design
- A computer science degree or equivalent from a strong program
- Background at a high-growth startup or marketplace, or impressive shipped side projects
- Comfort with AI coding tools, which write much of your code
- Strong appetite for building things in your own time
On-site in New York, NY, five days a week. US work authorization is required; no visa sponsorship or transfers.
