JOB-1714

A startup that connects customers with precision manufacturers is growing its supplier base and needs a hands-on supply chain manager. The person in this seat finds, vets and brings aboard machining shops and providers of additive (3D printing) manufacturing around the country, with particular attention to suppliers serving aerospace and defense buyers. The work has a direct bearing on how fast the company can scale.

What the job involves

  • Search for new CNC machining and additive manufacturing suppliers nationwide
  • Qualify each shop on capability, quality and capacity before it joins the network
  • Onboard approved suppliers and keep strengthening the overall quality of the network
  • Read technical drawings and judge whether parts can be made reliably
  • Visit and speak with shops directly, which makes this a practical, in-the-field job

Experience that fits

  • Roughly two to five years in sourcing, supply chain, or technical sales and relationship management
  • Hands-on sourcing of CNC-machined, sheet metal or additively manufactured parts
  • Ability to evaluate manufacturability and run supplier operations
  • Several paths fit: supply chain professionals, technically fluent sales people, or mechanical engineers who want a more people-centered role

Fully on-site in the San Francisco Bay Area. Candidates must already be authorized to work in the US; visa sponsorship and transfers are not offered.
