JOB-1734

A venture-backed robotics company at Series A that deploys AI-powered robots in real production facilities is looking for a senior software engineer to join its R&D group. The role suits a very strong programmer who likes tackling problems across the whole stack, from low-level firmware up to cloud services, and who is more excited by the physical world than by pure software.

What you’ll own

  • Orchestrate live robot control software, planning optimizers for motion, and ML pipelines on multiple hardware platforms
  • Develop and maintain labeling tools for data, perception modules and compilers tuned for robot intelligence
  • Work wherever needed in the stack, spanning embedded firmware through cloud services
  • Design systems with teammates in a low-ego culture and get them into service
  • Deploy directly at customer sites so the software proves itself in actual operation

What you bring

  • Five to ten years of software engineering for robotics, automation or embedded systems, with strong Python
  • Software built for physical robots such as arms, manipulation or other autonomous hardware
  • Experience leading a robotics software system from start through deployment as a hands-on technical lead rather than a people manager
  • A bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science, robotics or a related field
  • Solid fundamentals across languages; TypeScript and React are useful
  • Helpful extras: ROS, motion planning, perception, Docker and Kubernetes
  • Comfort with a scope that shifts as company priorities change

On-site in the Boston area. Visa transfers are considered.
