Full-Stack Software Engineer (Insurtech)

A commercial-insurance technology company is modernizing how risk is selected and priced, using technology, data and machine learning. It is hiring a full-stack engineer to build the internal systems behind risk selection, rate setting and the policy lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Build core internal platforms that support risk assessment, rate calculation and policy handling
• Sit alongside actuarial and insurance-risk experts to understand their rules and reasoning
• Convert intricate business logic into lasting, reliable software
• Own backend services from design through running in production

Qualifications

• Four to eight years as a full-stack or backend engineer, ideally at a venture-backed startup
• Professional work in at least one of Python, TypeScript, JavaScript, Ruby or Kotlin
• Product or backend delivery experience, not infrastructure alone
• Experience in a regulated field such as fintech, insurtech, legal tech or health tech is a plus

On-site in either New York, NY or the San Francisco Bay Area. Visa transfers are considered.
