JOB-1789
A late-growth data-infrastructure company, whose platform moves enormous volumes of customer data out of warehouses and into the business tools teams use every day, is expanding its core systems group. The team keeps the pipelines behind that movement fast, dependable and global, and engineers here run projects with unusual independence.
Problems on the table
- Speed up data delivery to major advertising and marketing destinations by studying every stage of the pipeline for bottlenecks
- Extend today’s batch-only pipelines so they can also handle real-time sources such as webhooks and message queues
- Plan for the next tenfold jump in volume by hunting down scaling and reliability limits early
- Strengthen a low-latency caching layer that lets customers drive real-time personalization from their warehouse data
- Run and extend a multi-cloud, multi-region backend, including new regions that satisfy data-residency requirements
- Work directly with customers on their hardest scale problems and influence what the team builds next
What you bring
- Seven or more years of software engineering, with real depth in distributed systems and performance work
- Strong systems design fundamentals and a clear sense of how large distributed systems behave under load
- Built event collection or streaming services that critical systems rely on, using message queues, Kafka, SQL databases, Kubernetes and Docker
- Owned systems through orders-of-magnitude growth
- Backend focus rather than full-stack, ideally at a fast-scaling startup
- Sharp communication and a quick learner
Remote for candidates based in Canada. Visa transfers considered.
