JOB-1623

  • Permanent
  • Remote

A late-stage, remote-first data company lets marketing teams act on the information in their cloud data warehouse without writing SQL. One of its main products has expanded rapidly and now drives a large part of the business, so the team is adding a backend engineer with strong product instincts.

Problems on the table

  • Squeeze more speed and interactivity out of data warehouses through query tuning, precomputed state and warehouse-specific improvements
  • Help customers build audience segments, choose what data to send downstream and measure how different audiences perform
  • Move toward live audience calculation and syncing as warehouses adopt change-data-capture style streaming
  • Use generative AI to make acting on data feel smoother for non-technical users

About you

  • Roughly six or more years designing distributed and server-side systems at a high-growth startup, with attention to scale, maintainability and dependability
  • Very solid systems-design fundamentals
  • Real product and customer sense, including comfort writing and discussing product specs and talking to users
  • Backend focus rather than a mainly full-stack, data-engineering or DevOps profile
  • Clear communication and quick learning; the company values impact and growth potential over raw years of experience

Remote for candidates based in Canada. Visa transfers considered.
