A Series C technology company serving public-safety and government customers needs a senior engineer to run the infrastructure and data backbone behind its core product. The work centers on enormous volumes of data that must be stored, indexed and searched quickly and reliably.
The work
- Design, build and run the data backbone, from petabyte-scale ingestion landing in object storage through to indexing in databases and vector stores so searches return quickly
- Own storage and retrieval design, deciding how data splits across hot and cold tiers, using distributed databases or streaming systems as appropriate
- Operate and grow containerized workloads on Kubernetes with declarative configs and GitOps across several environments
- Own release automation and codified infrastructure plus tooling that lets engineers ship often and safely
- Help keep federal-grade compliant environments such as FedRAMP secure, auditable and dependable
- Debug and tune across the stack, and mentor colleagues through reviews and pairing
About you
- Five to ten years building and running production distributed systems
- Strong AWS and cloud production experience
- Experience architecting large-scale data storage and retrieval
- A solid DevOps foundation covering CI/CD, observability and automated deployment
- Comfort owning systems from architecture to on-call
- FedRAMP or other regulated-environment exposure is a plus
