An early-stage healthcare AI startup is hiring one of its first engineers. The company makes AI agents that relieve people living with serious long-term illnesses, and their families, of day-to-day care coordination. The engineer who joins will help form the team while acting as a hands-on contributor and product owner.
Responsibilities
- Lead the from-scratch development of two enterprise engagements and the matching consumer-app updates
- Shape product direction for the coming months and the following year in close partnership with the CEO
- Own HIPAA and SOC 2 compliance within your first three months, making the agents enterprise-ready
- Develop, troubleshoot and evaluate AI agents on Google ADK, covering prompt work and harness design
- Mentor engineers, assign work, review code and help recruit the next hires
Profile
- Six to ten years as a full-stack engineer
- Shipped a consumer or user-facing product from zero to one at an early-stage or fast-growing startup
- Full-stack depth in React, Python with FastAPI, TypeScript and cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP
- Production experience with LLMs: agent orchestration, prompt and context design, tool use, evals, guardrails and observability
- High standards for quality, low ego, and care for how decisions affect patients and families
- Healthcare or other regulated-industry experience is a plus
On-site in Boston, five days a week. US work authorization is required and no visa support is available.
