JOB-1517

An early-stage fintech startup is creating a trading platform and now wants an iOS engineer to build its first native mobile app from nothing. The app is meant to be a complete trading experience on a phone, with streaming prices and advanced order handling, so correctness and reliability matter as much as speed.

Responsibilities

  • Create the company’s first iOS trading app from scratch, covering streaming market prices, sophisticated order types and access to several trading venues
  • Be the architect of the mobile codebase and lay a foundation later hires can extend safely, where precision with numbers is non-negotiable
  • Partner with the founding team and the web front-end engineers so the phone experience mirrors the web product in look and behavior
  • Craft gesture-driven screens and snappy interactive charts that pack professional-grade information onto a small display without overwhelming people
  • Integrate REST endpoints and WebSocket feeds, recover from dropped connections, keep price feeds in sync and manage device-side cache so the app remains snappy in volatile markets
  • Implement wallet integrations, biometric sign-in, signing of transactions and protected on-device key storage
  • Run the complete release process through Apple review and set up CI/CD for builds, previews, tests and rollbacks
  • Eventually mentor and lead more junior mobile engineers

Who we want

  • Three or more years of Swift development for iOS, including taking an app from first commit to launch
  • A real, visible interest in trading, whether professional or through personal projects
  • Experience with real-time data streams and WebSockets
  • Strong UI and UX instincts, including prototyping and gesture-based interfaces
  • Public work such as a portfolio or GitHub is a plus, as is fintech, crypto or real-time data experience

On-site in New York, NY, in person every weekday. Visa transfers considered, with limits on remaining validity.
