Backend Engineer (Cloud Cost Optimization Startup)

A venture-backed startup in cloud cost optimization is hiring a backend engineer to create software that lowers infrastructure spend for other companies. The business pairs machine learning with pooled purchasing, and an LLM-based product is close to release.

What you’ll own

• Take backend projects from idea through production, in a small team without rigid silos
• Design, build and scale the server-side systems that power the savings product
• Extend current cost-management tooling or start new tools from scratch
• Contribute to the upcoming LLM-based offering while the group grows and possibly divides into two focus areas
• Raise engineering standards through code review, smoother developer workflows and CI/CD
• Keep the system dependable and quick

Profile

• Roughly three to ten years working as a backend or software engineer
• Background at a fast-moving B2B startup, AWS or a larger technology company
• Comfort with Python, FastAPI, PostgreSQL, AWS and Docker/Kubernetes; DynamoDB, cloud cost tooling or LLM exposure is a plus
• Ambitious, low on ego, and at ease with substantial independence
• Prior startup experience is preferred
