An early-stage startup that connects data with automated processes for sales and marketing teams, where customers set up and operate those processes by directing AI agents, is hiring a founding platform engineer. This is a staff-level position with a lot of independence, centered on the product’s backend.
What you’ll own
- The server-side engine that executes customers’ automations, including scheduling, queues and third-party integrations
- Keeping the system scalable, consistent in its data and highly available
- Features from initial scoping through delivery
- Platform architecture decisions, made together with a technical co-founder
- Production-grade infrastructure running at high volume
- A stack of functional TypeScript, a workflow engine evolving toward its own compiler, bespoke evaluation tooling and a product designed agent-first
Who thrives here
- Five or more years as a backend or platform engineer
- Early-stage startup experience from seed through Series B, whether as a founder or an early engineer
- Has built production job systems, queues or data pipelines at scale
- Track record keeping high-load or shared infrastructure scalable, consistent and available
- Experience with Effect or functional TypeScript
- A bachelor’s degree
