Salary: $100,000 – $112,000 + benefits
A well-established California law firm is seeking a full-time Litigation Paralegal for its Downtown San Diego office. This nonexempt, onsite role supports the Labor and Employment Group, which handles statewide defense matters involving class actions, PAGA claims, employee classification, workplace investigations, disciplinary actions, leaves, accommodations, privacy, free speech, whistleblower issues, and litigation at all stages.
The paralegal will help manage cases from start to finish, including drafting and revising documents, maintaining case files, coordinating discovery and document productions, preparing deposition and hearing materials, and conducting legal and factual cite-checking. The role also supports document review and works with the Litigation Support team on eDiscovery platforms such as iPro.
Expectations include meeting a 1,575-hour annual billable requirement, occasional extended hours and travel, strong client service, and consistent onsite attendance.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage cases from inception through trial or settlement, maintaining timelines and priorities
- Draft, review, and revise legal documents, including pleadings, discovery responses, and correspondence
- Organize and maintain case files, discovery logs, indices, and document production databases
- Support deposition and hearing preparation, including gathering exhibits and creating witness outlines
- Cite-check briefs for both legal authority and factual accuracy
- Assist with document review and coordinate with Litigation Support for eDiscovery databases (iPro or similar platforms)
- Meet an annual billable requirement of 1,575 hours
- Work extended hours or travel for case support as required
- Deliver excellent internal and external client service
- Maintain consistent, reliable onsite attendance
QUALIFICATIONS
- Ability to work and bill as a paralegal under Cal. Bus. & Prof. Code section 6450
- Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-approved program
- Minimum 5 years of paralegal experience with a California law firm or in-house legal department (Bachelor’s degree preferred)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and/or Office 365
- Prior experience with iPro or comparable eDiscovery software, and Adobe Acrobat Pro XI
- Strong legal research skills using Westlaw (preferred) and/or Lexis
- Thorough understanding of legal procedures, rules of court, and local rules
- Hands-on experience with eDiscovery processes
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong teamwork, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to confidentiality and high ethical standards
