JOB SUMMARY
In this position, you will be part of a team responsible for the architecture, engineering, deployment, and maintenance of network technologies. You will also collaborate with the software development team to plan and support software application deployments.
Engineers in this role are expected to design solutions for challenges involving new features, interoperability, vulnerabilities, and system constraints. They also evaluate current capabilities, anticipate future needs, and work with stakeholders, vendors, and peers to define and implement those capabilities.
A successful engineer is both a technical expert and a strong communicator who can influence stakeholders, build consensus, and drive action. This role requires leadership through mentoring junior engineers and technicians, while consistently modeling behaviors aligned with the organization’s values.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Research, design, engineer, develop, troubleshoot, and support network solutions and infrastructure.
Define and execute repeatable testing procedures, create technical documentation, and deliver implementation standards. - Assess operational processes to ensure security is integrated effectively.
- Provide advanced troubleshooting and direct support to stakeholders.
- Evaluate risks of new applications and products, recommend security requirements, and propose mitigation strategies.
- Act as a security subject matter expert, consulting with network architects, engineers, and other teams.
- Deliver timely reports and findings to management, operations, and executive leadership.
- Recommend new security policies, standards, and best practices while advising on compliance and policy interpretation.
- Coordinate projects and activities across departments and business units.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 6+ years of progressive experience in networking, technology management, or security operations.
- Strong technical foundation in current and emerging technologies.
- Hands-on expertise in network design, configuration, and troubleshooting (routed/switch networks, TCP/IP, Ethernet, VLAN, IPSec, VPN, Firewalls).
- Experience with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Chef).
- Background in Unix-based system, network, or security administration/engineering.
- Confident, energetic professional with a results-driven, can-do attitude.
- Active TS clearance with current SSBI/T5R investigation & CI Poly.
