JOB SUMMARY

A well-established law firm is seeking a detail-oriented and tech-savvy Paralegal / File Clerk to join their Boston, MA office. This is a full-time position combining substantive paralegal responsibilities with document and file management. The role supports attorneys handling a variety of complex civil litigation matters, including construction, transportation, premises liability, products liability, cybersecurity, business litigation, and education law.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Open, organize, and maintain incoming case files, ensuring accurate logging, scanning, and filing of documents (both physical and digital).
  • Draft pleadings, manage discovery processes, and prepare subpoenas.
  • Maintain and update case calendars, tracking all litigation deadlines.
  • Catalog, retrieve, and organize case-related files for attorney access.
  • Manage both electronic and hard copy filing systems.
  • Assist with document production, deposition summaries, and trial preparation.
  • Review case records for completeness and accuracy.
  • Ensure compliance with court rules, filing requirements, and deadlines.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform administrative functions including Bates stamping, scanning, merging/separating PDFs, and applying proper naming conventions.
    Support multiple attorneys in high-volume litigation cases.
  • Work collaboratively with legal teams to improve file management and workflow efficiency.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong organizational skills with experience in file system management.
  • Working knowledge of civil litigation procedures and legal terminology.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and PDF software tools.
  • Ability to prioritize, manage time effectively, and maintain attention to detail.
  • Comfortable handling digital and paper-based files.
  • Prior paralegal experience preferred; willing to train a motivated candidate.
  • Strong teamwork skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
