JOB SUMMARY
This position supports the firm’s Trial and Litigation Group, which handles complex, high-profile matters in constitutional law, wildfire and COVID-19 litigation, civil rights and land use claims, First Amendment issues, takings, class actions, and eminent domain. The team manages cases at all stages from pleadings and discovery to trial and appeal in both state and federal courts. This is primarily an on-site role with some remote flexibility.
As a Litigation Paralegal, you will work closely with attorneys and litigation staff to manage cases from inception through resolution. Responsibilities include drafting and editing legal documents, organizing case files, managing discovery logs, handling document productions, supporting deposition and hearing prep, cite-checking legal briefs, and coordinating document review and database management using platforms like iPro or similar.
This role includes meeting an annual billable goal of 1575 hours, with occasional extended hours and travel required. Consistent punctuality and a high standard of client service are essential.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Qualified to work and bill as a paralegal under Cal. Bus. & Prof. Code § 6450
- Bachelor’s degree
- Minimum 5 years of recent litigation paralegal experience at a California law firm or in-house legal department
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel advanced functions: PivotTables, VLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH)
- Expertise in document management, eDiscovery processes, and tools such as Adobe Acrobat Pro and recognized review platforms
- Strong legal research skills; experience with Westlaw (preferred) or Lexis
- In-depth understanding of court procedures, local and state rules
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
