JOB SUMMARY
Our Client is seeking a Marketing and Business Development Analyst to join its Marketing Department in the New Jersey office. This role will report directly to the Chief Marketing and Business Development Officer and is responsible for delivering strategic support through data analysis, research, and content development. The ideal candidate is highly analytical, detail-oriented, and capable of synthesizing market intelligence into actionable insights for practice groups and leadership.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct in-depth market research and competitive intelligence to support firmwide business development strategies.
- Create detailed client, prospect, and industry reports to identify trends and opportunities.
- Monitor and analyze developments in the legal market and target industries.
- Provide analytics-driven insights for marketing and business development initiatives.
- Lead CRM and experience database input and maintenance, including developing streamlined matter-reporting processes.
- Assist in the coordination and preparation of RFPs, proposals, and presentations.
- Collaborate with marketing team members to update and improve pitch materials.
- Track and report on pitch/proposal effectiveness to guide future initiatives.
- Brainstorm and develop new marketing collateral aligned with brand and audience goals.
- Prepare impactful submissions for legal rankings and awards.
- Partner directly with attorneys and practice leaders to execute BD strategies.
- Recommend new business opportunities using data and research insights.
- Manage outreach and engagement tracking via the firm’s CRM system.
- Provide coverage and support during staff absences or periods of increased workload.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- 3–5 years of experience in marketing, business development, or research/analytics.
- Prior experience in a professional services environment (law firm, consulting, accounting) strongly preferred.
- Strong administrative, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading abilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
- Familiarity with Nexl, Foundations, Bloomberg Law, and Dun & Bradstreet is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Occasional travel between offices may be required.
