Job Description
Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior IP Litigation Paralegal to join its New York office. This role supports attorneys in all phases of Intellectual Property litigation, including trial and ITC proceedings, and involves frequent collaboration with external vendors and internal stakeholders. The successful candidate will be an independent, detail-oriented professional with a deep understanding of litigation procedures and IP-specific workflows. Travel and overtime availability are required.
Responsibilities
- Manage all phases of IP litigation from case initiation through trial, including Federal, State, and ITC matters. Draft and file court documents; support calendaring of key litigation deadlines.
- Assist with discovery, including collection, organization, and review of documents.
- Prepare infringement and invalidity contentions and assist with claim construction processes.
- Support deposition and hearing preparation, including Markman hearings.
- Draft charts, indices, and assist in trial/arbitration logistics and travel coordination.
- Conduct cite-checking and Bluebook review of legal briefs and court filings.
- Utilize litigation databases and tools for case management and eDiscovery.
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior paralegals and litigation support staff.
- Coordinate with attorneys and vendors for document productions and trial preparation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required; ABA-approved paralegal certificate preferred.
- 10+ years of litigation paralegal experience, with a focus on Intellectual Property.
- Experience with PTAB, ITC, Federal Circuit, and Hatch-Waxman/life sciences IP litigation preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and legal tools such as Relativity, Opus 2, CaseMap, Westlaw, LexisNexis, and iManage.
- Strong familiarity with USPTO Patent Center, patent prosecution records, and prior art retrieval.
- Exceptional organizational and analytical skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Able to work independently and collaboratively with cross-office teams.
- Willingness to travel and work overtime as needed.
