Job Description

Our client is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Litigation Paralegal to join its General Liability team in the New York office. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience supporting attorneys in all phases of litigation, especially within New York state and federal courts. This is a full-time, fast-paced position ideal for a professional who thrives on managing multiple priorities with accuracy and efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Draft pleadings, discovery documents, subpoenas, motions, and correspondence.
  • Organize and manage case files, records, and incoming invoices.
  • Follow up on outstanding records via phone, email, and mail.
  • Support attorneys with mediation and trial preparation.
  • Conduct legal research using Lexis Advance and public access platforms.
  • Review discovery documents for relevance and privilege in preparation for disclosure.
  • Manage large caseloads and coordinate with multiple attorneys.
  • Utilize document management systems to retrieve and archive case materials.
  • Track deadlines and maintain detailed calendars for litigation activities.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of litigation paralegal experience, preferably in general liability.
  • Strong familiarity with NY court procedures, including e-filing.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Word and Outlook) and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Experience with Aderant Total Office (ATO) preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Lexis Advance.
  • Demonstrated ability to draft legal documents and manage high-volume caseloads.
  • Must be organized, detail-oriented, and able to meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Prior billing experience required.
