Job Description

Our client is seeking an experienced Corporate Paralegal – Restructuring to support attorneys handling Chapter 11 and Chapter 15 bankruptcy proceedings. This role is critical to the legal team’s ability to manage fast-paced, high-stakes matters involving U.S. and cross-border insolvency cases. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and comfortable working under tight deadlines in a team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

  • Draft correspondence, pleadings, and court documents under attorney supervision.
  • Review, revise, and proofread legal filings for accuracy and compliance with court rules.
  • Conduct factual and precedent research; maintain organized collections of relevant materials.
  • Electronically file documents with bankruptcy courts and manage case dockets.
  • Coordinate logistics for court hearings, including agendas, submission of materials to chambers, and document compilation.
  • Prepare monthly fee statements and interim compensation applications in compliance with federal and local guidelines.
  • Collaborate with attorneys, billing staff, and administrative support to ensure timely submission of billing materials.
  • Support attorneys at hearings by managing materials, communicating with chambers, and ensuring smooth logistical execution.
  • Maintain confidentiality and uphold high professional standards in all communications and document handling.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; strong academic record preferred.
  • Minimum 5+ years of relevant paralegal experience, ideally in corporate restructuring or bankruptcy law.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. bankruptcy procedures, including Chapter 11 and Chapter 15.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); experience with e-filing platforms and docket management tools.
  • Excellent organizational, writing, and proofreading skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work collaboratively and independently.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple deadlines and respond to shifting priorities with efficiency.
  • Must be punctual, reliable, and maintain strict confidentiality.
