Job Description

Our client is seeking a full-time Associate Attorney to join their Medical Malpractice Defense team in Hartford, CT. This hybrid position offers attorneys with 1–6 years of experience the opportunity to work on complex medical malpractice cases while enjoying a flexible, collaborative work environment. Ideal candidates will demonstrate strong litigation and client-service skills and be ready to take ownership of cases from start to finish.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage a caseload of medical malpractice defense matters, from pre-suit investigation through trial.
  • Draft and argue motions, pleadings, and discovery responses.
  • Prepare for and participate in depositions, mediations, hearings, and trials.
  • Collaborate with clients, experts, and senior attorneys to develop and execute litigation strategies.
  • Conduct in-depth legal research and prepare analytical memoranda to support case development.
  • Communicate regularly with clients, providing status updates and strategic guidance.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Admitted to the Connecticut Bar or eligible through UBE score.
  • 1–6 years of litigation experience, preferably in medical malpractice defense; clerkship experience is a plus.
  • Strong skills in legal research, writing, and oral advocacy.
  • Experience handling dispositive motions and responding to complex discovery.
  • Detail-oriented, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple matters independently.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
