Associate Attorney – Civil Litigation

Salary Range Target: $110,000 – $170,000 Base Salary

Job Description

Our client is seeking a full-time Associate Attorney to join their civil litigation practice in New York, NY, with the flexibility of a hybrid work arrangement. This role is ideal for attorneys with 2–10 years of experience in defending automobile, premises liability, and labor law cases. Responsibilities:

• Manage a caseload from start to finish, including pleadings, motions, and discovery.
• Conduct and defend depositions of fact and expert witnesses.
• Prepare for and attend hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials.
• Perform legal research and draft internal memoranda to support litigation strategies.
• Communicate regularly with clients, providing status updates and litigation assessments.
• Collaborate with partners, clients, and legal teams to develop and execute effective strategies.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Admitted to the New York State Bar and in good standing.
• 2–10 years of civil litigation experience, with a focus on automobile, premises liability, and labor law defense.
• Skilled in motion practice, legal research, and discovery.
• Experience taking and defending depositions.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• A self-starter with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
